Designer Brands You Love at a Price You Can Afford

Fashionistas all know that a designer wardrobe doesn’t come cheap!  That being said, it doesn’t mean you can’t grab a good bargain on even some of the very high end designer’s goods.  You can strut your style  without having the bank repossess your car.  Here are some tips to snatch some of those designer brands you love at a price you can afford.

The Internet is Filled with Deals

Don’t underestimate the deals you can find on the internet.  There are dozens of online auction sites, consignment stores and discount stores that are just a mouse click away.  The ease of access lets you compare prices on those hot new pair of Prada shoes you have been drooling over.  Also you can find discontinued lines, which are often sold at a bargain prices.  There are accessories, purses, shoes and whatever you might be searching for.  It may not be  the current season, but Louis Vuitton is timeless.  Here is a video showing you some of the sites to score some bargains.

High End Stores

Don’t be afraid of high end stores, even these stores have sales and bargain racks.  You can get designer clothing that are slightly damaged  or not in pristine condition.  But if you’re handy with a needle and thread you can save a fortune.  Always look closely at the goods on the discount rack and find out just why they are theres.

Consignment Stores

Thrift stores and consignment boutiques are great places to find some designer brand, but it may take a bit of digging around.  If shopping online makes you wary because of sizes.  Then spend some time digging through the thrift stores to find something special.

Choose Your Bargains Carefully

Don’t get carried away by the brand, finding Chanel at an affordable prices is wonderful but not if it is falling apart.  Consider the condition before anything else, lots of designer goods are discounted because of the condition they are in.  Before you fork over your hard earned cash make sure it’s in good condition or let it be something that you can fix easily.  A seam that has come apart or a missing button is not a big deal but a rip down the back of a shirt that is not something you can fix.  Stick to timeless style, the little black dress you can wear forever but flared hip huggers not so much.

Is Online Shopping Better Than Actually Going to the Mall?

Technological advancements have changed everything including the way we now go shopping. The internet has changed shopping forever and some local store have had to go to great lengths to adapt.  The convenience of online shopping has become just as popular as going to the mall.

There are tons of surveys that show people preferring to shop online, however that doesn’t mean the malls are bare and certainly not at this time of year.  There are plenty of shoppers who enjoy simple window shopping, and touching the merchandise before buying.  So is online shopping better than actually going to the mall?  Let’s find out.

The Perks of Mall Shopping

Before online shopping was available going to the mall to shop was considered extremely convenient.  All the stores you wanted were in one place and they had a few restaurants too.  If you wanted to buy anything, you had to go and get it.

It’s not all bad there are plenty of shoppers who like the mall, it gets you out of the house and you can see, feel and touch things before you hand over your hard earned cash.  Things like clothes, jewelry and shoes, shopping at the mall is actually more convenient then returning the wrong size when you shop online.  Big ticket items are often a better deal locally, the shipping costs for a new bedroom set is usually more than any discount for buying online.  Payment options are easier, stores in the mall take the same credit or debit cards online does, plus they can accept cash.
The bad thing about the mall, it’s time consuming and it can be crowded.  This time of year with holidays right around the corner going to the mall can seem like a nightmare.  There is traffic and finding parking and when the whole thing is over you’re exhausted.

Perks of Online Shopping

There are two really big perks to online shopping.  The first is the convenience, you can shop anytime, anywhere all you need to do is get on the internet.  You can browse all you want and when you’re done you just pay.  No leaving home, no fighting traffic, no crowds, all you need to do is pay and you’re done.  Sounds pretty good right?

The other big perk is the prices, stores from all over the world are competing for your business and you can reap the benefits.  Price comparisons are easy in fact there are plenty of websites that will do it for you.  Beware of shipping charges though they can bite.

The disadvantages are not being able to see or touch something before you buy it, while that may be okay for a toaster, you don’t want to buy your wedding dress that way.  The other is the time it takes for shipping, you could wait up to a week while at the mall you take what you want home right away.

There are reasons to shop at both, but at the end of the day it really is all about your preference, there is nothing stopping you from using both.
